To the PETA, “Professional and Ethical Treatment of Animals and SPCA, and other organizations. Please stop cruelty to baby calves by branding, dehorning and other operations. There must be other ways. Now there are psychedelic ear tags, so they can be seen at night! (Put brands on ear tags). Also, why dehorn? That is horribly cruel. Why not raise Montana longhorns? Texans made a fortune by raising longhorns. Branding is more of a tradition than a necessity.

Here in Whitewater, the weather has been beautiful, and it is quiet since it is school vacation.

Note: We still have Senior Meals on Wednesdays 11-1 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

Last week, Fran Compton came to a meal. Fran is a guest of Dixie Stordahl and she is from Florida. Enjoy Montana Fran!

Farmers and ranchers are busy. Dennis Donovan and crew worked at the Austin Ranch. Also, Von Holzey was a hand there.

Late sympathy to the family of Annaleise Harms Moore. She was a nice lady. Her funeral was last week.

“Greetings” to Jeff Cole, he was probably waving from the top of Mount Everest! We heard that he had climbed that mountain.

Why do people climb that mountain? Because it’s there! Hope you are safe Jeff! He was raised in Dodson, and later lived in Glasgow, Montana, after serving in the army.

Well, I’m going to Billings to visit Janet, my sister. Then to Ennis for my niece’s wedding celebration.
