One Nation, Under God
Many relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends came from all over on Friday to say goodbye to lifelong resident and farmer, Willard Mortenson. Everyone had something nice to say about him and many stories were told of association with him and what a kind man he was. He will be missed. Although rain seemed to be in the air earlier, it held off and it was a nice day.
Just two weeks more of school and summer vacation starts. Everyone is busy and looking forward to it.
Work has been going on at the former Bear trailer as one whole addition has been torn off. The wind helped with some demolition at the former Haubrich house by taking down approximately half the big pine tree in the yard. This is the second time that a large piece of that tree has come down.
Hope everyone remembered Mother's Day on Sunday and honored their mother in some way.
Congratulations and best wishes to all having a birthday or anniversary this week.
A woman who thought she had a problem went to a psychiatrist. When she got home, she told her husband the Doctor had said she was perfectly normal. "So what did he tell you to do about that terrible grouch you've gone around with for thirty years?" her husband asked. She smiled. "Your name didn't come up dear."
Have a good week and enjoy the nice weather.
