One Nation, Under God
The Phillips County Library was one of 34 libraries in the state to receive the "EXCELLENT LIBRARY SERVICES AWARD" from the Montana State Library. This is a prestigious award as any academic, public, school or special library in the state can apply. Adding up the number of libraries in those categories comes to a total of 730 libraries that could apply.
Each year library directors complete the online application indicating criteria the library has achieved. If a library meets the required number of recommendations and answers a question about excellent service in each category, the library is honored with an ELSA Award.
In the memo from the Montana State Library Commission it states that they recognize the passion, dedication, and perseverance that library directors, staff, and board members engage in every day. The State Library Commission wished to recognize libraries who have shown their commitment to the community through improving their services and infrastructure, and to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of libraries in Montana to achieve excellence.
Janeen Brookie, Library Director, appreciates the people of Phillips County for the continued support of your public library.
