One Nation, Under God
Caitlin Robinson 406 Beauty on Central
Few things will change with the beauty salon known to many as "Shear Essence", located on Central Avenue in Malta, even with new ownership. Caitlin Robinson, who owns and operates 406 Spray Tan and 406 Beauty on 1st Street West recently purchased the "Shear Essence" business from Tiffany Fercho. Tiffany will be moving following her pending marriage.
Caitlin is married to Cole Robinson and they reside in Saco on the Robinson Ranch. She graduated from cosmetology school in Omaha, NE, before moving to the area. She grew up in Chester and graduated from CJI School, and she has family ties in the community, her grandparents are Pete and Gwen Henderson of Loring.
Now in her eighth year in the hair business, Caitlin is excited about the new venture. When asked what her favorite part of her work was, she replied. "...my clients." Caitlin brings fresh, new, and creative elements to the business, and being energetic and young is on her side as well. Her ideas and approach are innovative and creative, and the staff at the Shear Essence salon are looking forward to the change.
"It's different...not having a boss in the salon all day, but we're doing great with it," said Sue Kaluza at Shear Essence. "Caitlin does the ordering and comes in, we each do our thing." At Shear Essence there are currently four stylists.
Sue is the bright smile that started up Shear Essence when her previous salon was destroyed in a fire on Front Street years ago; she had operated as Sue's Stylette, which many still refer to and have difficulty finding the salon in the phone book.
The name may be new, "406 Beauty" (on Central), however, the service is still by the friendly, welcoming faces you know. Just remember, as the saying goes, they're "a hairstylist...not magicians!"
Welcome and ongratulations, Caitlin and young ladies.
