TOWN OF SACO

PUBLIC HEARING TO APPLY FOR CDBG GRANT FUNDING

The Town of Saco will hold a public hearing on March 15, 2023, at 5:00 pm in the Saco Town Hall, 110 Nelson Street, Saco, MT 59261. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public comments regarding the Town’s overall community development needs (public

infrastructure & facilities, economic development, and housing), including the needs of low and moderate-income persons. The Town of Saco will also seek the views of citizens on the activities that should be undertaken to meet the identified needs and their relative priority. The Town may apply for funding from the Montana Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program (federal funding administered by the

Montana Department of Commerce) and other state and federal funding sources to address housing, public facilities, or other community needs. The Town wants its residents to comment and offer suggestions for projects to address the most urgent needs. Comments may be given orally at the hearing or submitted in writing by March 15, 2023, at 4:00 p.m.

Phillips County hereby invites for Malta Congregate and home-delivered meal bids for the elderly for April 2, 2023, through June 30, 2023. Meals served must be acceptable to the elderly consumer, meet 1/3 RDA, and provide a minimum of 600 calories. Meals will be served on days and times mutually agreed upon by the two parties. The following meal pattern is required:

Meat or meat alternate – 3 servings

Serving = 1 ounce cooked lean meat,

poultry or fish, ½ cup beans, 1 egg

Vegetables and fruit – 3 servings

Vegetable serving = 1 cup leafy

greens or ½ cup cooked

Fruit serving = ½ cup or 1 serving

Grains – 2 servings

Milk or dairy equivalent – 1 serving

Coffee or hot tea

The caterer is responsible for following all safety and sanitation regulations as established by the State of Montana under the 2013 Model Food Code for retail establishments, including the 2015 rule update. Caterers must be inspected by the County Sanitarian and the Caterer must have the appropriate business license. The caterer is responsible for paying all costs of food, supplies, labor, and other costs as necessary in providing the meals. Meals may be served on-site or catered to another location. The location of meals served on site must be accessible to people with disabilities. Bids must be received in the Courthouse by 12:00 noon on Friday, March 17, 2023. Bids will be opened at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2023. Special consideration for the home-delivered meal bid will be given for the services of a dietician. Phillips County reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Election Notice

The Whitewater School District 20D announces the upcoming election to be held on May 2, 2023. Two trustee positions are up for election for a three-year term. The seats are currently held by Brent Anderson and Michael Hammond.
