One Nation, Under God

PCHC Update from CEO Tharp

Dear Editor,

Healthcare is an ever-changing system and PCH has had to make changes to ensure that we are meeting the needs and demands of our community. Over the past couple of years, in the midst of a global pandemic, PCH has remained dedicated to our mission of making a difference in healthcare. Many hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes continue to fall victim to financial shortfalls and are faced with challenging financial decisions and PCH has been no exception to this. Working together with the PCH Board of Directors, we have developed and implemented a financial improvement plan to help PCH achieve a more optimized financial position. While these decisions were not made easily, they were necessary to maintain our sustainability as a service provided to our community.

We are continually looking for ways to improve our services that we have available at PCH. With our recent organizational changes, we continue to offer a variety of services. All of our service lines are continuing to operate and are available to our patients. While we have continued to operate our Critical Access Hospital, ER, and Rural Health Clinic, we have also added Ultrasound and Behavioral Health Services over the past year. We continue to work with outreach providers to bring services to our local community and have telehealth options as well.

We greatly appreciate the continued support of our community and look forward to the future with a renewed sense of optimism.

Sincerely,

Jo Tharp, CEO

Phillips County Hospital
