The Dodson basketball teams faced their Roy-Winifred Outlaw and Poplar Indian counterparts last week after their return from Winter Break.
The Lady Coyotes kicked things off by facing the 2022 Class C State Champion Roy-Winifred Outlaws on Friday, January 6, in Winifred. Dodson lost 72-38.
Kataya Killeagle had 27 points. Lindsey Fetter had nine points and Jazlyn KillEagle had two points.
The Coyote boys team then faced the Outlaws and lost 59-22. Junior Stiffarm led Dodson with seven points, Tanner Ball had six points, Sebastian Best had five points, and Mikey Jaynes had four points.
The Lady Coyotes lost 62-47 to the Class B Poplar Indians in Dodson on Saturday, January 7.
K. KillEagle had 21 points, Fetter had 14 points, J. KillEagle had nine points, Emma Cole had two points, and Jaymiee Stiffarm had one point.
The Coyotes fell 74-45 to the Poplar Indian boys team. Jaynes led Dodson with 18 points. Junior Stiffarm had 14 points. Chaske Cliff had five points, Tanner Ball had five points, Lance Snow had two points and Sebastian Best had two points.
The teams are scheduled to face the Frazer Bearcubs on Friday, January 13, in Dodson. The games start at 5:30 p.m. Dodson will then travel to Lustre to play the Lions and Lady Lions on Saturday, January 14. The games are scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
