Ivan Taylor, 3rd grade, was the first helper last week. It is so great to have such bright, cheery kids serving the community. He broke out The Pigeon Needs a Bath!
Royce Strobbe, 7th grade, is a great asset to our Pep Club at Saco School. She not only brought in treats for bingo, but when she got the opportunity to break a book out of jail, she chose to break one out to immediately go into circulation for the elementary. Mabbel Gehrke, 2nd grade, brought in treats for Bingo night and was so excited to break out Biscuit Visits the Vet that I didn't even get a chance to get a picture of her before she took the book home.
Rowdy Beil, 2nd Grade, jumped on the opportunity to bring in treats to break out a brand new book! She chose The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! which is a popular series in the library.
Ireland Mears, 9th Grade, and an awesome member of Pep Club, not only helped cover all the books to prep them for the library, but also was the first to offer to bring in treats for the community. She chose to break out Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney.
Breaking books out of book jail, one book at a time!
Saco School's Pep Club bought a bunch of popular books, ones that specifically interest the students, but they have to earn them to get them out!
How do they earn them? They get to partake on the fun Bingo nights that the Saco community is having throughout the month.
They've been asked to either bring in treats for the occasion, or be a helper for a night. They serve the community with warm refreshments and a homemade treat.
Our community loves it, but also, the kids get brand new books on top of it. Bingo night is so much fun, and these kids were the first to volunteer to bring in treats or help.
Come enjoy Bingo night this Thursday, December 8th in the school library, or on Tuesday, December 13th in the school multipurpose room, always at 5:30.
Again, we applaud the students who are so eager to break these books out and to serve the community with either a sweet treat or a precious smile.
