One Nation, Under God
Williston State Head women's basketball coach, Bill Triplett, has announced the signing of Allison Kunze from Malta, Montana. The 5'10 forward has helped lead Malta High School to three consecutive trips to the Montana State Class B basketball tournament with hopes of doing the same this year. Kunze has been awarded all-conference and all-state the last two seasons and was also selected as one of the top sixteen players in Montana by the Great Falls Tribune last spring.
"We are pretty excited about Allison joining us next fall. She averaged over 14 points per game last year and just under 10 boards. Those are really good numbers. Plus, she's a solid individual off the court".
Coach Triplett went on to say, "You know, having Laramie Schwenke (also a Malta grad) as our assistant is a blessing for us. She's strong in every phase of the game from scouting, watching film, evaluating talent, conducting individual workouts, and in this case, recruiting. Coach Schwenke was instrumental in signing Allison. Welcome aboard, Allison. Welcome to the Teton family.

The Phillips County News caught up with Kunze, a Malta senior, after hearing that she signed and asked her thoughts about joining the Tetons in 2023.
"I am super excited about it and excited to be able to continue playing basketball," Kunze said.
Kunze said that she had first been approached by the school during the Hi-Line invitational Tournament in Havre last year in addition to seeing Teton Assistant Coach Laramie Schwenke at games throughout the year.
Kunze went on a tour of the Williston State College during the second weekend of November. She said that the visit confirmed her plans to sign with the college.
"It felt right and checked all of the boxes that I was looking for," Kunze said.
One factor seemed to be at the top of her list.
"The fact that I will get to play right away," Kunze said. "I don't have to go through a redshirting process or anything because it is only a two year college."
She is also a fan of her future coaches; Head Coach Bill Triplett and Assistant Coach Scwenke.
"I couldn't pass it up with the two coaches," Kunze siad. "They are very talented."
Kunze also met the current team and said that they were very welcoming.
Currently Kunze believes that she will play at the forward position. The Tetons currently have a 6-5 center from Spain.
