Malta Girl Scouts Challenges Local Businesses

The Malta Elementary Girl Scouts Troop 3995 have been excited to start another year. They just finished their Fall Sale of nuts, chocolate, and magazines. Thank you to family and friends for supporting them! The girls decided to use part of their proceeds for a community service project. When they heard about all the stray cats in Malta, they wanted to know how they could help. Their leaders contacted the Malta Trap, Neuter, and Return Program to find out what was needed at this time. At their last troop meeting, the girls made and donated around 30 small tie blankets to be used for captured kitties to keep warm. They also presented Kate Carnahan with a $250 check to be used toward vet bills.

The Girl Scouts would like to CHALLENGE any other businesses or organizations in town to match their monetary donation to the Malta Trap, Neuter, and Return Program. If you would like to help in other ways, please contact Kate Carnahan or Jacy Stolem for more information.

Thank you to Twilla Johannesen for prepping all the blankets for the girls to tie! Another thank you to the moms and grandmas who helped the girls on such a busy night.
