One Nation, Under God

In the Spirit of Halloween...

On Monday, October 31, little goblins, cute spooks and bloody-mouth vampires converged on the Veteran's Park in number.

Independence Bank hosted their 2022 Happy Halloween Spooktacular and decorated the gazebo at the park. Little kids, big kids, families including grandpa and grandma-ma, took turns in the scene that was set. Some were happy and some, not so much.

They all had one purpose, visiting with the Independence Bank ladies and enjoying treats of soda and juice. With 150 treats gone, the kids were still coming. They ranged in age from newborns to older models.

Tricksters then hit the businesses on the street and some ran out of candy. The fall weather was perfect for a ghostly outing.

From 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. the Phillips County Hospital and Health Clinic hosted their annual Truck-or-Treat where three judges pondered a tough decision on the best decorated "trunk" – just in time for the onslaught of tricky and sticky treaters.

The judge's decision for the winning entry went to Zach and Tessa Handley. About 15-17 cars opened their trucks with treats. One vehicle was handing out "Monster Poop" (aka M&M's), while one vehicle had a bubble machine running, that was a crowd pleaser.
