Malta Kids Club to Host "Camp Read S'More" Family Fun Night October 25th

Malta Kids Club is partnering with Malta Elementary and P.I.E. (Parents Involved in Education) to hold a Family Fun Literacy Night in conjunction with parent-teacher conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair on Tuesday, October 25th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the elementary school gymnasium.

From the moment children and their families step into the Malta Elementary School Gym, they will be entering the world of “Camp Read S’More!” Participants are encouraged to visit the book fair and purchase their favorite books and then register at the Malta Kids Club table where they can sign up to win door prizes, and receive a fun-filled family backpack.

Next, families can go to Camp-Read-S’More Corner to read their new books - either in a tent with a flashlight, or they can sit around the campfire. Hike over to play Marshmallow Toss, S’Mores Cover-Up Dice game, or BINGO for Books and follow the trail to do a fun S’Mores Craft and coloring pages at the craft table.

Malta Kids Club is an Afterschool and Summer learning program funded through a Montana Office of Public Instruction 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Grant serving students ages five to eighteen since 2005. Goals of the Montana 21st CCLC programs are: To help students show improvement in core academics; to work collaboratively with students and families to foster positive relationships and promote youth development; and To provide high-quality operations to promote active participation of students.
