The Enterprise devoted its entire issue to politics. So hot had the current campaign become, and so bitter the attacks of the Enterprise editor on the democrats that the fights were being staged on the streets, and brawls in local saloons usually arose over political issues.

The following was addressed to Messers, J. F. Kilduff, Phil Casellberg, J. F. Murray and Frank Lampkin- “Your esteemed favor ordering your advertisements out of the Enterprise for political reasons received and contents noted. As we are not in the habit of allowing customers to dictate how we shall run our business and treat with scorn any attempt at boycott we would say in reply that the additional space can be used to good advantage. So far as the Enterprise is concerned, you are all dead and buried and may you rest in peace.”
