One Nation, Under God
Staff of the Hi-Line Retirement Center gathered Saturday evening for a delectable meal and their last time together as HLRC employees.
The event also served as their Halloween and Christmas party; some dressed in goblin costumes, ugly sweaters, Christmas attire, and some in their favorite character. Some just came as themselves...characters.
Warren Taylor bade farewell to the residents who have long enjoyed his monthly visits to provide music with Jay Southwick, Bill Abrahamson and others. The echoes will reverberate off the barren walls as the only musical item in the center on Monday was a piano sitting alone. He shared words of thanks and appreciation for the welcome the musicians always received. John Ramos provided wishes for the 45th anniversary of Duane and Sonya Murray, who were celebrating the evening with their "family."
About 50-60 people attended the evening's gala event and games were played. Names were drawn for door prizes and the crowd left for the evening a bit subdued. Some left to go to new employment and some started retirement. All left knowing they were "family" with the residents that had filled their lives for many years. Good night, Hi-Line Retirement Center.
Tim Bodet had no message for them.
