2022 Marian Hills Ladies Golf League Recap: Shane Anderson Insurance Wins Title

The 2022 Marian Hills Ladies Golf League started out this year on Wednesday, May 5, with eight teams. Teams competing this year were sponsored by the Tin Cup, Bank of Malta, Shane Anderson Insurance, Valley Drug, Phillips County Hospital, Independence Bank, First State Bank and Art’s Furniture and Carpet.

Teams played 14 weeks of match play ending August 17. The season was split into two halves with first and second place in each half earning spots in the end of year playoffs.

First half winners were Shane Anderson Insurance (Toni Bishop, Karey Bishop, Jeni Anderson and Kaitlyn Indreland) with 140 points and Independence Bank (Kayla VanWichen, Ann Sautter, KayCee Ost and Jessica Cebulski) with 133.5 points securing themselves a spot in the playoffs mid-season.

Second half winners were the Tin Cup (Kate Webb, Mercedes Simanton, Nancy Salsbery and Kourtney Simonson) with 115 points and First State Bank (Barb Galt, Elena Sudbrack, Gale Simonson and Tasha Hines) with 114 points to take the next two spots in playoffs.

After the first round of playoffs on Wednesday, August 24, Shane Anderson Insurance and Independence Bank moved forward to the championship round Wednesday, August 31. The 2022 Marian Hills Ladies Gold League championship was won by the Shane Anderson Insurance team with each team member winning $100.

An end of year tournament was also held Sunday, August 27. A mix of hole prizes were awarded, each flight winner received $40 and the low gross and low net over all each won $100. Kate Webb had a score of 83 taking first place and Sascha Lulloff was the winner of low net with a score of 71.
