One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, September 14, 2022

Sympathy to the family and friends of Bobby Young of Minnesota. Bobby was the half-brother of Gale Young. He was 54 years old and a veteran of the US Army. Bobby lived with us in Malta for a while.

Also, sympathy to the family of Wanda Doney. Wanda was Marlene Allery’s daughter. They had lived at the Allery ranch in Whitewater.

Again, sympathy to the family of Danny Wendalyn, son of Irene Wendalyn of Chinook.

Let’s pray for the passing of these family members and hope we don’t have any more for a while.

It’s so sad how many families and friends are gone.

Many from Whitewater, including me, went to the Saco Fun Days. Irene Wendalyn and I saw the parade and ate the delicious BBQ dinner. The parade was not as good as last year, since the Wagon Train was canceled, due to the drought.

However, there were riders on beautiful horses.

Later we visited Gale (my daughter in Saco).

The minnow race proved to be a fun game and earned $1000 for Kyler Venable’s benefit.

There were volleyball games at Whitewater School, starting at 4 p.m. on September 13th.

Congratulations to the Whitewater Penguins cross country team for their performance at the last tournament. Nice Going!

Bonnie McMullen returned from Seattle, Washington. Welcome back to them.

We can smell smoke from the fires burning in Canada. The sun did not set, it was just a red ball surrounded by a coral color.

Take care!

Helen A.
