One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, September 7, 2022

September came in hotter than ever! Our skies were quite clear until the 4th, when clouds and smoke rolled in. It was really thick and smelly! The smoke is from fires in Oregon, and the other side of the divide. I hope the firefighters can get those fires out soon!

My sister Debbie drove up from Billings to spend time with me. We were invited to Cindy Clark’s for dinner on Friday. Carol Lumsden also enjoyed the special birthday dinner for me, Dixie Stordahl!

Carol and Pete Lumsden took a pair of horses and a wagon to Jerry Salveson’s place in preparation for Cody’s wedding. The wedding was at the Salveson ranch south of Malta on Saturday! I’m sure it was beautiful! Dotty’s birthday was on the 3rd and it looked like she was having a good time!

Amus told me that he got to ride with Papa to move the people over to the venue. He said they took about 10 loads over, but only two to return. Many people walked back. Debbie and Cindy and I spent a few hours at the farm house going through things of mom and dad's to decide what we could do with the dishes, knic-knacks and bedding. We had a fun time looking through mom’s recipes that she had handwritten. Dad had a lot of movie equipment for splicing film together, taking movies, and that kind of paraphernalia. We came back almost as perplexed as we started out.

Then we had dinner at my house! More laughter ensued! And thanks to Deb Phillips for helping me reach the shrimp bags at Albertsons!

Have a great September!
