One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, August 17, 2022

There was a 50th class reunion in Whitewater on August 9, 2022. Dinner was served at the North 40. Carol and Gene Brown, Janet Brown (my sis), from Billings, and her children were with her. It was good to see them all. We had a nice visit.

Before returning home, they visited the farm where Hills now live.

Others attending the reunion were Debbie Carlson of Washington, Tina Pelke, and Cynthia Swartz.

The 107th PC Fair was last weekend. It was a real success in spite of the buildings which were destroyed by the wind. There were changes in where the exhibits were located, some for the better.

The 4-H booth was delicious as usual. The concerts were fantastic and well attended. The day was hot but, during the concert, a real cold front moved in, and it was cold! Montana weather is so changeable.

Congratulations to Sue Olson and all staff on a great fair 2022.

In the Whitewater area, farmers are preparing for harvest. We hope crops are good despite the drought.

The “Duck Ponds” are almost dry. Note: a duck pond is a little body of water, which is fenced to conserve birds, geese, and ducks. The pond near Whitewater is all dry. It’s sad.

There is a group of archaeologists who are studying tepee rings left by Indians close to Whitewater. How interesting!

Stay cool and drink lots of water.

Helen A.
