It has been hot again for the last several days and we have had less of the very hard winds that we were having. There has been a little moisture for which we are thankful.

As we read our paper this week school will see its first day for this fall being held. Please watch for children as they will be appearing on the streets again.

Friends of long-time community resident Brenda Nessland were sorry to hear of her passing last week. Her funeral was last Friday at the Lutheran Church in Malta. Brenda had worked for many different places, keeping books and greeting everyone with a big smile. Condolences are sent to her family; you lost a special person.

Hard and terrible grasshoppers have again been reported in different parts of Phillips County. Everyone who has not had them yet are very thankful. We see a few in our yards and hold our breaths.

Congratulations and Best Wishes are sent to all celebrating a birthday or anniversary this week. Hope you have a good one.

The Wilsons and Teri Leys returned to Montana at the end of the week after Teri's cancer treatment in Spokane. She said so far, she is feeling very good but tired.

The world is endless, the universe inexhaustible, and the human brain will never be threatened with unemployment.
