Jody Marie Able-Simanton (Pumpkin)(Nee ah ta fae) age 57, Zortman, passed away on August 10th, 2022 on the mountain where she felt the most at home. Jody's care has been trusted to Wilderness Funeral Home in Malta. As per her wishes, there will be no services at this time.
Jody was born in Harlem, Montana, on October 30, 1964. Jody was an accomplished saxophone player in high school, a self-taught guitarist, and an excellent swimmer, winning the fastest butterfly in competition. She was an amazing cook and had natural artistic creativity in remodeling, painting, quilting, sewing & seamstress, assembling dresses for weddings, costumes, Barbie doll clothes, and the occasionally torn jacket. She drove a semi across the country with a load of cattle from the ranch she worked and lived, could tear down and rebuild cars & trucks as well as any mechanic, and dealt high-stakes poker in numerous casinos. She loved a good cup of coffee and conversation. Jody spent the last days of her time on Earth peacefully in her favorite chair affectionately tended by her loving Spencer.
Jody was preceded in death by her parents; Clint Able, and Mary Ereaux. Brothers, Clint Able Jr., Joe Sandgren, and the father of her children, Rick Shape.
Jody is survived by her life partner, Spencer Simanton; Daughter, Justina (Jeffery) Homan; Son, Colt (Katie) Shape; Grandchildren, Archer, Clayton, Richard, Hazel, and Lucy; Sister, Sherry Carlson (Chris Dagel), Cindy Stevens (Dave) and Brother John Arnold. With many nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
