Smokey the Bear says, “Beware of all fires.” It is very dry again.

Lisa Baxter of Glasgow was the guest speaker at our Senior Citizen meal, at the North 40 Café in Whitewater.

She works for the Council on Aging and Action for Eastern Montana and has various programs for Seniors.

There was a huge farm and machinery auction of Jesse and Carie Simonsons. It was east of Whitewater and online too. We heard the family is moving back to California again.

Jeanie Green went to visit her grandson in Billings, then went to see her other grandkids play baseball in Glendive.

Dixie Stordahl and Lu Besel worked at the Phillips County Museum.

Here’s a recipe for Beet Pickles. (In memory of Esther Brown of Whitewater)

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of vinegar

1 cup water

1 tsp cloves

1 tsp allspice

1 T. cinnamon

Combine all ingredients and simmer in hot water for 15 minutes.

Pour in clean jars and seal.
