One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Sympathy to my friend Irene Wendalyn and her family on the loss of her son Danny. They lived in the Whitewater area years ago. Danny will really be missed.

“Get Well” wishes to Kyler Venable who was in a terrible accident. He’s in the hospital in Billings. Jeanie Green is his grandmother, and she went to see him.

Randy Stenvik of the Whitewater Baptist Church took a group of children to a campground near Roundup, Montana.

The Handley family have returned to Whitewater after a vacation. They are gearing up for school

The electricity was out here in Whitewater, and many parts of the county. A terrible lightning and thunderstorm followed by a torrent rainstorm. Anyway, the power came on in the night. It is hard to be without electricity, as we depend on its power so much.

Happy Birthday to all who are having birthdays. Also, to all having anniversaries, including Gale and Teresa.

My mother, Martha Guslander and Dad Harry Austin were married in July.

Here’s a poem titled “Tribute to my Wife” (Dad wrote it for my mom).

Tribute to My Wife

By Harry Austin Sr.

On a lonely road one morning,

I met a teacher on her way to school.

The way it looked to me,

She was so lonesome,

That she needed some company.

I took the job, and

it turned out to be for life.

As that very same teacher later became my wife!

I thought she was one of the best hearted persons,

That I had ever met.

Always was ready to help others in time of need.

Nearly 45 years I have known her

And she proved that I was right.

Always,

Helen A.
