Milk River Mocha has New Owners and is Open for Business

For all of those that have missed their drive-thru fix of caffeine on the west side of town at the corner of Hwy 2 and 191 North, the wait is over!

New owners of Milk River Mocha, Matt and Shaelin Roberts, and Risa Crismore put out the open sign on Friday, June 24, at 10 a.m. and got their first taste of running a coffee shop.

The three new owners originally come from the Libby, Montana area. Shaelin and Risa are sisters, and are also the children of the new owners of the Edgewater Inn, Challis and Laura Crismore.

When asked how they first heard about the opportunity to own the shop, Shaelin said, "Consistent phone calls from our parents about coming over here. We all were set up, had our houses and everything, but we gave in."

"We have a very persuasive family," added Risa.

Matt and Shaelin have three kids ages 12, 4, and 2, all boys. Risa has one son, age 5.

"I am really looking forward to having my son attend school here," said Risa. "I think he will have a much better opportunity in Malta."

All three said they love the community and have nothing but praise for the friendliness and help that they have received since being here.

Since opening on Friday, Risa and Shaelin both say they are already noticing repeat customers.

"Things are going really well," said Risa. "We are still kind of learning as we go, but the people have been really good."

"We have to say a huge thanks to the previous owner Janessa Salsbery," added Matt. "She has been here with us and showing us everything."

The shop right now is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We are still playing around with the hours," said Shaelin. "We may be open earlier on some days, and be open later during the week as well. We aren't sure yet."

They will also be adding some food to the menu. Like burritos and keto bowls, and maybe some sandwiches, as well as daily specials on the drinks. All of which you can keep an eye out for on their Facebook page.

Stop out, get your coffee fix, and say hello to the new owners of Milk River Mocha.
