One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Many of the Loringites attended the funeral services for Ruth Flansaas on Tuesday in Malta. We send our condolences to the family. I made the trip in to town on Monday evening for the sharing of memories.

The wind blew like it would never stop on a couple of days. The community picnic was postponed due to wet, windy weather. Then on Thursday the weather was almost perfect, calm, 70’s. Then back at it on Friday and hot. I think it got to 90 degrees. Saturday was very warm but in the evening it started raining and rained gently most of Sunday.

The momma and dad fly catchers are really busy flying in and out of the nest built on my deck. I looked in and sure enough the eggs had hatched. Now we just have to wait for the babies to get big enough to fly!

Many Minnesotans were in Loring over the weekend. Cindy Clark and family called as many relatives together as could come for the burial of David Clark’s ashes and interment. Afterward everyone gathered at Kenny Clark’s for a feast consisting of grilled chicken, smoked brisket, and ham accompanied by several salads, buns, and yummy desserts.

Several Clark families drove out for church on Sunday. Everyone at church was invited over to Kenny’s for breakfast, another delicious meal!

Danny and Judy Simonson and Gale and Leroy Simonson traveled to Great Falls to take in the Shriner Football game. Their grandson, Jackson Simonson was one of the chosen players. It’s quite an honor to play in the east-west challenge game!

Amus and Everett Blunt are participating in the gymnastic classes offered in Malta.

Ellie Norville spent the weekend with Carol Lumsden to work on her sewing projects for 4-H.

Stay tuned to see when the Loring Community picnic is rescheduled! It won’t be long!

The fawn that I mentioned last week is still close by my home. It’s with its mother, but since I live close to the highway, motorists, be careful not to hit it as you are going by!

Until next week, be kind!
