47% Cast Their Vote in Phillips County
Phillips County voters resoundingly approved (R) Matt Rosendale for U.S. Representative, second congressional district, with 895 votes. Kyle Austin 116, James Boyette 29, and Charles A. Walkingchild 36. On the Democrat ballot for U.S. Representative, second congressional district, Penny Ronning received 49 votes, Mark Sweeney 23, and Skylar Williams 16. For the Libertarian ballot, Sam Rankin received 4 votes, Roger Roots 1, and Samuel Thomas 1.
The local issue on the ballot, Local Option Motor Vehicle Tax, voters approved the tax with 645 votes, while there were 550 against.
On the Democrat ballot, Jonathan Windy Boy received 22 votes for State Representative, District 32, and Jordan Ophus received 59 votes for State Representative, District 33.
Other Phillips County results on the Republican ballot were for Public Service Commissioner, District 1, K. Webb Galbreath 328 votes, Randy Pinocci 556; State Representative, District 33, Casey James Knudsen 712 votes; County Commissioner, John F. Carnahan 992 votes; County Clerk & Recorder/Surveyor/Auditor, Lynnel LaBrie 1042 votes; Sheriff/Coroner, Jerry Lytle 1004 votes; County Attorney, Dan O’Brien 943 votes; and, Treasurer/Assessor/Superintendent of Schools, Ann M. Remely 978 votes.
On the Non-Partisan ballot for Supreme Court Justice #1, Bill D’Alton received 177 votes while Jim Rice received 886. For Supreme Court Justice #2, James Brown received 605, Ingrid Gustafson 280, and Michael F. McMahon received 173.
