20th Annual Car Show Weekend Coming Up!

The 20th Annual Car Show, sponsored by The First State Bank in Malta will be held this coming weekend with many events planned to keep everyone entertained.

The weekend will start on Friday, June 3, with the 5th annual Color Fun Run sponsored by Malta Parks and Recreation. The 5k Run will start at 6 p.m. and the Mile Run will start at 7 p.m. Both starting points will be at Riverview Park. There will also be face painting, sand art, music, and food by A.E. Catering.

Saturday morning, June 4, the Car Show will start at Memorial Park.

Car show organizer Terry Skones said, "We are excited to host the car show again this year. Hopefully this year, we will have all of our Canadian friends back. We missed them last year. We look forward to seeing everyone. There will be plenty of food and fun."

The car show will be coupled with vendors in the park, food, music, many local stores holding sidewalk sales, and more.

The car show awards the top six places, as well as a People's Choice award and the Darryl Seeley Memorial Award.

After looking at some of the area's nicest vehicles, people can head out to the Hi-Line Dragstrip for the first weekend of racing. Saturday will be a test and tune session with the first points racing of the season on Sunday, June 5.
