One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, May 4, 2022

Sympathy to all poor people who are affected by war. Pray for peace.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Dan Boatman of Arizona. Dan was Lois (Berg) Boatman’s son. He lived in Whitewater and Malta until recently.

“Get well” to Wanda (now of Chinook). Wanda is Marlene (Allery) Doney’s granddaughter. They spent most summers on the Allery farm near Whitewater.

A “shout out” to Fred Allery Sr. who is now in the Hi-Line Apts. Fred has lived on his farm near Whitewater most of his life. He was a Vet, now in his 90’s. Hello to Fred and his family.

There was a track meet in Whitewater last week. Congratulations to all participants especially to our local Whitewater athletes! You all did well.

It was “Polka” Sunday at Whitewater Lutheran Church, Sunday. Mr. Engebretson and Nancy Murdock played polka songs, with Christian words. A fun service!

Tuesday, we played Bingo in Malta. Nancy LaBrie joined us for a fun evening. She owns “The Closet”. Nancy lived in Whitewater and cooked at the North 40 before.

Note: If anyone has news or stories, please write, or call me, I appreciate the news.

Today the weather is beautiful, no wind for a change. But the ground is so dry. Coming from Malta there are tumbleweeds clear along the fences. It is so sad.

However, my moms’ tulips poked their heads through the snow, and now are in bloom! The tulips have grown every year for 50 years! Beautiful!

Enjoy the spring!

Helen A.
