Notice is hereby given that regular* registration for the Federal Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, will close at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, May 9, 2022.

*NOTE: If you miss this regular registration deadline, you may still register for the election by showing up at the Phillips County Election Office on or before Election Day.

All active and inactive**electors of Phillips County are entitled to vote at said election.

DODSON, MONTANA NOTICE OF TRUSTEE ELECTION

Notice is given by the Clerk of Dodson School District 2A-C of Phillips County, State of Montana, that the annual trustee election will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, by mail ballot for the purpose of electing two trustees for a three year term and one trustee for a two year term. Ballots may be returned to the following location at the following times. All 2022 Mobile Home tax statements in Phillips County have been mailed. The 2022 Mobile Home first half of taxes are due May 31, 2022 and the second half is due on or before November 30, 2022. If the taxes are not paid by this date, the amount payable is delinquent and draws interest at the rate of 5/6 of 1% a month until paid and 2% must be added to the delinquent taxes as a penalty (MCA 15-16-119).

Resolution Regarding Property Abandoned, Obsolete, Undesirable or Unsuitable for School Purposes of the District:

The trustees of the Malta School District have determined that the following property of the district, located at the Malta High School is abandoned, obsolete, undesirable, or unsuitable for school purposes of the Malta School District.

The subject property is abandoned, obsolete, undesirable, or unsuitable for school purposes because they are no longer needed. Items for sale are approximately 20 computers. Computers will be sold as is, sales are final, and the District is not responsible once the item is purchased.

As provided in § 20-6-604, MCA, the trustees of the Malta School District hereby resolve to sell off the property identified above because it is or is about to become abandoned, obsolete, undesirable, or unsuitable for school purposes of the Malta School District.

The trustees of the Malta School District further resolve that notices of the resolution shall be published on the 20th and 27th days of April 2022, in the Phillips County News newspaper.

This resolution shall become effective 14 days after publication of the second notice identified in the immediately preceding paragraph, unless appealed to the district court by a taxpayer in compliance with and as provided in §20-6-604, MCA.

The computers will be available for sale at the Malta High School on May 12, 2022 on a first come first serve basis.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Town of Dodson will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 28, 2022. The public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dodson MT 59538. The Town has scheduled the hearing to obtain public comments regarding the proposed improvements to the Town of Dodson’s water system. With assistance from Great West Engineering, the Town is preparing a water preliminary engineering report (PER) update and is preparing applications for funding from the Montana Department of Commerce, Montana Coal Endowment Program, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, USDA Rural Development, and/or the Department of Environmental Quality’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program.

At the public hearing, representatives of Dodson and Great West Engineering will explain the purpose of the project, the project area, the scope of work, budget, possible sources of funding, and any costs that may result for local citizens because of the project. Great West Engineering will also present its assessment of the project's impact on the environment. Copies of the draft environmental assessment and PER are available at the Town Hall. During the public hearing, residents may ask questions and express their opinions regarding the project and its impact on the Town of Dodson.
