The strong winds last week did a lot of damage around town. It blew down two large sections of an old tree at Pickle's house right next door to me, one which landed across my new fence.
It blew down one large branch on one of my trees by my house, so it is hanging there still attached by tough sinew on one side and blew quite a few shingles off my house. That was the most forceful winds I've seen in over a year. I was almost knocked over several times when I was trying to walk in it and the hard gusts would hit.
Considerable damage was done at the Fairgrounds and the former Thackery Garage, including the whole roof of the grandstand and part of the roof at Thackerys. I'm sure there are many more in the county finding damage.
