One Nation, Under God
Wow, the clocks have sprung forward one hour so it is more like spring.
I always have a tough time when the time changes, but only for two days. I heard more geese flying over today. It’s a welcome sound and sight, too!
I was involved in a conversation about butterflies one day this week. Most people know that the monarch butterfly is one of the insect family that migrates to a warmer climate in the late fall. But we didn’t understand how that could happen because butterflies don’t have a long life span, only approximately 5 weeks. So I googled it! The monarch that flies up north in the spring lays some eggs on milkweed which soon hatch. These caterpillars eat and grow and then make a chrysalis where the caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly. So this happens three or four times during the summer with each generation dying off after the eggs are laid. But the last batch of eggs to hatch make a type of super butterfly which can fly all the way to Mexico and then back to lay a mass of eggs and the cycle starts over! Isn’t it fascinating how our world works?
Congratulations to the teams who went to the state tournaments and had such a great showing! Many of the families who have children playing attended the games.
The games were so exciting! I watched on NFHS.
We met at the home of Cindy Clark for Bible study on Wednesday. We studied the healing of the leper. Interesting how the people who have strong faith can be healed. If God’s willing.
Saturday evening the people who were left in the area gathered at Kenny and Brenda Clark’s for a farewell to Charles and Tina Russell. We will miss you, but wish you continued success!
I had a delightful guest on Sunday afternoon, Kyle Simpson of Helena! He is the son of my cousin Laurie Bjorklund. But I had only seen him a couple of times in the last 36 years. He wanted to come to “the farm” that was patented by his great grandpa Stubblefield in 1916. He hiked around a little and found antler shed that was very weathered!
I just got word from Diane Granlund Brady that the Celebration of Life service for Dorothy Granlund is March 26, at 11:00 at the Malta Lutheran Church with a luncheon to follow. Put it on your calendars!
Have a great week! Be kind!
