One Nation, Under God
Well, thank heavens daylight savings time has started. I don’t know how we would survive without that. I always feel cheated with the spring forward. Going back an hour doesn’t seem to bother me as much. I will never complain about an extra hour of sleep.
This is a good time of year if you’re a sports fan. It’s March Madness time for both the boys’ and girls’ college basketball teams. The national college wrestling tournament is coming up. The Masters is just around the corner, and all of the spring sports are starting at all age levels. Oh, and major league baseball finally got its legal stuff figured out and is ready to start playing ball!
Yes, I do watch as much of all of those as I can. It’s better than watching the world news lately.
As warmer weather gets near, everyone starts to plan their summer trips. With the gas prices where they are and where they are presumed to be headed. I think it’s going to be a summer of finding things around here to do. Maybe work on my photography or break out the metal detector.
I am glad that this community does have a lot going on through the summer. The car show, drag races, rodeos, BBQ contests, the fair. There always seems to be something going on to keep you busy and entertained.
With everything that we’ve been through the last couple of years, we need those community events to help get us back to where we were. And we need to get everyone out doing something. Even if it’s just a walk around the block, or a cup of coffee and a chat. If you know someone that could really use some outdoor time, try to find ways to help them get out.
I’ll end with a quote from Red Green. “Remember, I’m pulling for you. We’re all in this together.”
