What's On Mark's Mind?

The world news is all talk about Russia invading Ukraine. I truly believe that Putin has lost his mind. I saw a cartoon drawing of Putin and Biden sitting across from each other a few weeks ago. Putin is playing chess while Biden is playing checkers. After what I’ve heard about this invasion, I believe chess is out the window. One of them is playing checkers while the other is playing tiddly-winks.

This past weekend a large F3 tornado tore across my home state of Iowa. It was on the ground for over an hour, killing 7, including 2 children. My thoughts go out to those families affected by that storm. I don’t miss those storms at all.

I filled the car this week. So now we can go somewhere. We just won’t have any money to do anything once we get there……

On a positive note, I spent the last couple of weekends watching the Malta Mustangs and M-ettes win their respective Divisional titles. Some great games played by both squads. I wish them well at the state tournaments and I will be watching and cheering them on.

I also spent this past weekend watching the son of a girl I went to high school with show what he’s got at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, IN. He’s an offensive tackle from the University of Northern Iowa. He’s 6’7” 325 lbs. and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.89 seconds. If you were to ever see his mom, you would think there is no way that she is the mother to that monster of a man. I don’t believe she hit 5 feet. I’m excited for them to see which team picks him up. He’s forecasted to go in the first round. Whoever does get him, I’m thinking I better get one of his jerseys and show some support. His brother played right next to him at UNI. He will be a senior this coming year. Might have to go through it all over again next year!
