One Nation, Under God
A project that has been in the works since 2018 has come to fruition. A brand new bus barn for the Phillips Transit Authority (PTA) is 99 percent done and waiting for its final inspection from the state this coming Thursday.
"We will be moving things over there slowly," said Betty Hasler of the PTA. "I have a few time-sensitive things that I want to make sure I get done while all of my stuff is still here so I know that everything is working right."
They broke ground on land donated by the hospital for the new bus barn in June of 2021. All that remains to be put in are some cabinets that are on backorder until sometime late spring. The building will house the buses, as well as have the office and a boardroom.
"We began the Phillips County Transit in early May of 2006," said Hasler. "We are planning to have a grand opening sometime around there."
