NOTICE OF FLOODPLAIN PERMIT

APPLICATIOIN

NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that Phillips County will consider a floodplain permit application for the replacement of the existing Beaver Creek Bridge. The bridge is located on Phillips County Local Route L36206 (Larb Creek Road). The proposed project will involve removing the current bridge at Beaver Creek and constructing a 99’ clear span bridge in the same location. The proposed project has been developed in accordance with the state and federal floodplain regulations.

The proposed project is located at the site of the current Beaver Creek Bridge, a ½ mile south of the town of Saco (T31N, R34E, SEC 17 & 18).

The application is available for public review at the Phillips County Clerk and Recorder’s Office or can be sent electronically by request. Written comments will be accepted through January 21, 2022. Please contact the Phillips County Planning department with questions, (406) 270-1884

Public Notice for Bid / Estimate

Dodson Public Schools

The Dodson School District is currently accepting bids / estimates for the following projects;

1. Construction of Track and Field High Jump Approach and Landing Pad Surface Area

• The high jump approach area is recommended to be of unvarying surface preferably asphalt / rubber texture, makeup

• The declination in the high jump approach shall not exceed 1:100 (1%).

• The high jump approach area shall consist of a semicircle or rectangle of unvarying surface. The center of the semicircle or rectangle is to be the midpoint between the standards.

• The depth of the approach should be a minimum of 50 feet.

• The landing pad surface area shall not be less than 16 feet wide by 8 feet deep. Hard and unyielding surfaces such as concrete, wood or asphalt that extend out from beneath the side of the high jump landing pad surface area shall be padded with a minimum of 2-inch dense foam or other suitable material.

2. Construction of a Long Jump and Triple Jump Runway, Takeoff, and Landing area

• The declination in the approach / runway portion of the project shall be limited to 2:100 (2%) laterally and 1:100 (0.1%) downward in the jumping direction.

• The runway portion of the project should have a minimum length of 130 feet, and where conditions permit it should be 147 feet, 6 inches measured from the long jump foul line. The runway portion of the project should be 42 inches to 48 inches wide.

• Equipment shall meet the following standards; The takeoff area shall be marked by a rectangular shaped takeoff board, manufactured from wood or synthetic material which provides a firm base, the width of which shall be between 8 inches (recommended) and 24 inches (maximum) and 42-48 inches long. The takeoff board shall be set firmly in the ground level with the runway and the surface landing pit. If the takeoff is 8 inches wide, an additional 8 inches of firm, resilient material may be placed so that it abuts against the edge of the takeoff board farthest from the foul line. On hard surfaced runways, a painted scratch line of contrasting color and with the same size specifications may be used in lieu of a takeoff board.

• The landing area portion of the project shall be filled with sand or other soft material to a depth of at least 12 inches. The surface shall have the same elevation as the takeoff 3 board. The landing pit shall have a minimum width of 9 feet. In the long jump, the distance between the takeoff board and the nearer edge of the landing area shall be at least 3 feet and not more than 10 feet. The distance between the foul line and the farther edge of the landing area shall be at least 32 feet. In the triple jump, the nearer edge of the landing area shall be at least 36 feet from the foul line for men / boys and 27.89 feet for women / girls. Distances of 32 feet and 26 feet are recommended.

3. Construction of a 300 – 400 m / 3-4 lane / practice oval cinder, clay, running surface to be used for recreation and practice purposes.

3. Water Drainage

4. National Federation of State High School Association or Amateur Athletic Federation requirements do not apply.

5. “Track” or Running Surface will meet minimum safety inspections and requirements annually of district insurance and related organizations and their inspections.

6. Oval running surface construction will fit dynamics and dimensions of property space available for such item / project.

A visual view and visit of the area to be developed with this project is available by appointment only during the regular business hours of 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, M-TH only.

Bids / Estimates for the entirety of this three-part project will be accepted until Monday, February 7, 2022, 4:00 p.m.

Licensed, Bonded, Insured Bids / Estimates will receive preference.
