One Nation, Under God

Dodson News for Wednesday, December 15, 2021

For Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

This last week has been cold and nasty and given us an unpleasant look at winter weather. Saturday did warm up to 41 degrees for a couple hours before starting down again. The weatherman predicted cold all week. Sunday got up in the 40's again.

I attended a COA meeting in Malta on Wednesday & when I got home---no furnace----it wouldn't turn on and there was an odd odor in my house. Thank God for electric heaters, without a furnace in Montana in December is not your best bet. Between good neighbors who knew of a repairman and after contacting him he was able to find the worn out parts and replaced them. So thanks to Steve I am warm again and I hope worry free for the winter and very grateful.

The fuel people and the repairmen have all been super busy and working long hours.

Birthday greetings to Robert Dolphay and all others having a birthday-----Congratulations to Dean and Carol Kienenberger and Jerry and Bonnie Lankford on thier wedding anniversaries.

Birds and bees have as much to do with the facts of life as black nightgowns do with staying warm.

Have a good week---stay warm and safe!!

For Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Saturday moved into winter with a nice snowstorm and cooler temperatures, more in keeping with December. I had +14 the first time I looked at my gauge. Friday was a beautiful, warm day and the forecasters were remarking on the unseasonable warmth. We will all be glad to see the gas truck coming through to be sure we all have enough fuel.

Dora Henry has a new great-granddaughter in her family. Her name is Kinsley Mae and she was born on Nov. 24, 2021, in Belgrade.

There has been a lot of heavy fog all over the state. Yesterday Choteau/Great Falls was heavily covered. Dodson was too, on Sunday.

Terri Cole and her grandson, Quentin Coppedge, whose parents were in Great Falls, were awakened in Denton on Tuesday night and told to evacuate as a prairie fire was burning near the town. They went to a motel in Lewistown and returned the next morning. The fire seemed to be under control with no fire yet in Denton. Terri returned to Dodson, only to find out that later that day, the whole town was ordered to evacuate immediately. The Coppedge home was saved, but several others were not so fortunate.

Terri Cole and Dora Henry attended the chicken/biscuit dinner at the Little White Church in Malta on Saturday. They report bad roads both going and coming.

Birthday greetings to all celebrating this week and congratulations to Robert and Patty Dolphay on their anniversary and to all others who are sharing this time to celebrate an anniversary Every generation of Americans needs to know that freedom consists not in doing what we like, but in having the right to do what we ought.

Bundle up, stay warm, and have a good week!
