One Nation, Under God
Even though the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum is closed for the season, we had a busy week. I gave a school tour on Wednesday, for a small group of very interested students! Then we had A Night at the Museum appreciation event with appetizers and other liquid refreshments! Victor and Marilyn Bjornberg, of Helena, popped in for the festivities! Anne Boothe mentioned the original board members who have passed away, and their contributions to the museum. President Damien Austin welcomed everyone. Rosemary Veseth told of how she came to donate Mike’s pickup to the museum through devine intervention! We thank everyone who came out and enjoyed the evening!
On Saturday the GPDM participated in the Specialty Fair at the City Hall. It’s always fun to see all the vendors and visit with people! This year I was right across the aisle from Pierre Bibbs and the Dreaded Bean! He’s so happy and positive! Also Tammy Peterson worked with me which was a delight!
The COVID 19 seems to be very devious! Never know where or who it will strike! Just try to stay safe and take care of yourself.
Someone asked me if Venus was in the eastern sky in the evening this week. Venus is never in the eastern sky in the evening because it stays close to the sun, so in the evenings it’s in the west close to where the sun went down. Eventually it pops up in the eastern sky near sunrise. Venus is the brightest object in the night sky after the moon. And did you see the northern lights this week? They were like none I’ve seen for my whole life! Very colorful and dancing for long periods of time! Amazing!
Can you imagine my delight when my favorite music group “Queen” was featured on Dancing with the Stars and then the celebration of 50 years on Thursday night with Family Sing-Along with Queen! You know it!
The electricity went out on Thursday night around 8:45. It was black as can be! The power came on again in 15 minutes. But what was surprising as I later found out, the power outage covered from Wolf Point to Chester!
Welcome to the Canadians who are anxious to visit relatives or just to shop or see the sights in Montana and the whole USA! The border opens today November 8!
I did take a wildlife trip along the Slippery Anne Elk viewing area last week! What I was most awed by as I looked out from a high vantage point is how vast this land is! What did Lewis and Clark think as they trekked through? It was beautiful even without the fall foliage!
Be safe and enjoy life!
