Harriet V. Broadbrooks, 89 of Malta, Montana, passed away at Benifis Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, on October 28, 2021, from complications from Covid. Harriet was born on a farm near Madoc, Montana, in August of 1932. Harriet was delivered into this world by her oldest sister Myrtle, to Norwegian immigrants Peder and Anna Foss. The Foss family settled in Saco, Montana, where Harriet would graduate from Saco High School in 1949. Harriet met her future husband, Dan Broadbrooks, in Saco and the couple were married in January of 1950.
Harriet was a devoted wife and mother, raising six children on the family farm north of Saco, Montana. Harriet was also very close to her brothers and sisters throughout her life. The Broadbrooks family spent numerous trips, over the years, visiting Harriet's sisters and brothers, who were spread-out all over Montana. Those trips were filed with lots of laughter and love.
The Broadbrooks family left Saco in 1965 and moved to Malta, Montana, where Harriet lived until her death.
Harriet is survived by a daughter Linda Reeb (Broadbrooks) and son-in-law Pat Reeb of Riverton, Wyoming; daughter Danette Broadbrooks of Nye, Montana; son Darryll Broadbrooks of Billings, Montana and son Dennis Broadbrooks of Malta, Montana.
Harriet is also survived by a sister Leah Miller of Stevensville, Montana; and a sister Ann Moran and brother-in-law Bill Moran of Bozeman; Montana. Harriet and sister Ann were extremely close. Ann was Harriet's best friend and they confided in each other almost every day. They were inseparable.
Harriet is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her life. Harriet is also survived by a very dear and close personal family friend, Cathy Salsbery (Mavencamp) of Malta, Montana, whom Harriet loved as one of her own daughters.
Harriet was proceeded in death by her parents Peder and Anna Foss and several brothers, sisters and her husband Dan Broadbrooks, daughter Roxanne Simanton (Broadbrooks) and son David Broadbrooks.
A private Memorial service will be held at a future date. Harriet will be cremated at the Wilderness Funeral Home in Malta, Montana.
