One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, October 27, 2021

I’ve said this before, if funerals weren’t for a person who has passed away, the gathering would be a joyous occasion!

Debbie Dyrdahl’s family honored her wishes to have her final farewell at the Loring Lutheran Church.

Cindy Clark, lay pastor, had been visiting Debbie and offering communion for years. She was honored to do the service for Debbie’s family. Debbie’s sister, Jeri and Gary Reba, of Denver, and her two older brothers, Jim and Jack Halter, were here and Debbie’s daughter, Shannon, from California. Sister-in-law, Sharon and Dustin Hill, of Scobey, also attended.

I enjoyed visiting with everyone. A luncheon was served by the Loring Woman’s Club after the service.

The fellowship hall looked marvelous, decorated in fall colors! Thelma Wiese McMasters and Wayne Wiese both from Chinook came out to the funeral, too. They grew up close to Canada, north and west of Loring.

Sherrie Ottinger helped by pouring coffee. It was great to see other previous residents, Billie Matthews and Gwen Henderson!

I actually had a minute to visit Janet Johnston after my MRI on Friday. She was doing well.

I got cleared from my COVID ten days on Sunday so I’ve been on the road almost daily! Wednesday I was lucky enough to share Senior meals in Whitewater.

Congrats to Kiana Davis and Keira Simonson on their performance at the INFR in Vegas this week! Keira was first in one of the rounds! It was exciting!

I had a nice message from Delores Shettel on Sunday, it’s always nice to hear from people who I don’t see often!

The Full Hunter’s moon was beautiful this past week! Looks like the moon will be a crescent for Halloween! Watch for the bright planets, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn! After a week of nice fall weather, it appears that the wind will be a player in this next week!

I’m happy that I have a secure home!

Happy Halloween and Be kind to each other!
