One Nation, Under God

Deborah Jeanne (Halter) Dyrdahl

Deborah Jeanne (Halter) Dyrdahl was born Dec. 2, 1948, in Billings MT to Lewis M and Verona E Halter. She made her way to Malta in 1971 and was married to the love of her life, Leroy Dyrdahl on Feb 20, 1976. As a city girl turned country, Debbie had much to learn, and ultimately, this couple would create a lifetime of wonderful memories on the family farm.

After 24 years of farming, Debbie and Leroy moved to Malta in 2000. Debbie worked as a waitress at the Hitching Post and as a housekeeper at the Maltana Motel and was renown in the area for her tasty homemade pies. Debbie brought lots of laughter and joy (while securing the proverbial ‘pain in the a—’ award along the way!) to all who knew her and loved her, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy in Oct 2019 and is survived her brothers Jim (Madeline) Halter of Grants Pass, OR and Jack (Yvonne) Halter of Seattle, WA and sister, Jerilyn (Gary) Bisbee-Reba of Denver, CO, along with her twin children Chad Anderson and Shannon Johnson and multiple nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at 11am at the Loring Lutheran Church with lunch following provided by the Loring Women’s Club. Graveside service in Malta will follow at 2pm with a time of remembrance and celebration at Hi Line Retirement Center with refreshments following. Memorial gifts may be made to Phillips County Hospital or the Loring Women’s Club in her name.
