One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, October 13, 2021

Venus was in conjunction with the moon earlier this week. I had several people ask me which planet was so close to the crescent moon in the west! It was Venus, traveling behind the moon and appearing on the other side the next evening. It’s the brightest object in the night sky other than the moon.

Somewhere I caught COVID-19. I must say it’s not fun, but luckily it’s a fairly mild case. For me it’s like a head cold, sore throat, cough, stuffy sinuses, and low energy. I pray that you don’t get it. But thanks to my friends and neighbors, I’ve had lots of support!

It appears that winter is close. It’s freezing this morning, and snow is reported in the southern part of our state. I got my leaves swept up off the lawn, thanks to Cindy Clark. I’ve still had a few finches stop at my sunflower patch for some energy before continuing on their southern route. The sharp tail grouse are drifting into my trees and I love to hear them talking to each other.

The Clark family celebrated Bryten’s birthday on Sunday with a day at the Sleeping Buffalo. Lots of cattle work being done this time of year, preconditioning, sorting, shipping. Lots of decisions made by the ranchers this year!

Thanks for reading my column.

Be safe and kind!
