Passersby may have noticed a lot of activity at the H.G. Robinson House the past six weeks.
The activity is part of a two-month project providing the historic house with a facelift.
“We received a grant from the Tourism Infrastructure Investment Program for $60,000 to do the work,” said Phillips County Museum Curator Sharon Emond.
The money is paying for a new roof, siding, and a backdoor step for the building.

Some students driving in ‘aggressive fashion’ Malta principal warns
Students at the make-shift Malta High School at the former Country Home are driving in an “aggressive fashion” that could get somebody hurt, Principal Kelly Taylor told the Malta Board of Education last week.
The principal said the problems occur mainly over the lunch hour and at the close of school, but not during class periods when most students ride a bus to the various satellite classrooms around the community.
He said students sometimes pull out onto the highway “five and six abreast” in their vehicles and often don’t stop for students in the crosswalks.
Mustangs defeat Harlem early
Malta eliminated any suspense there could have been against Harlem last Friday with early touchdowns by various methods in a 49-14 conference victory.
The Mustangs opened the game on defense and with less than 30 seconds run off the clock, they had their first touchdown.
On Harlem’s first play from scrimmage, defensive end Eric Ottinger intercepted a pass on an out pattern and nearly returned it for a touchdown, ending up on the Harlem six-yard line.
Jeremy Otteson scored on the first play and after Kelly Kuszmaul’s conversion, Malta led 7-0 with 11:27 on the clock.
On Harlem’s very next possession, the Wildcats tried a pass over the middle on the first play, but defensive back Nate Salsbery picked it off and returned it 22 yards for a score with 10:02 on the clock. The conversion failed, but Malta led 13-0.
After Harlem punted on its third possession, the Mustangs started at the Wildcat 35, ahead 13-0 after running only one offensive play.

-William Mayberry’s southside livery barn was destroyed by fire along with eight head of horses, in a most exciting night fire which called out every citizen of the hamlet. Mayberry was seriously burned when he tried to save the horses. Andrew Veseth was able to free several of his horses from a nearby corral. The fire threatened the J.F. Kilduff warehouse in the rear of the Kilduff store and set fire to a small stable owned by Charley Wolf. Editor Smiley said, “A substantial token of the esteem in which Mr. Mayberry is held by the citizens of Malta will be shown in a few days and it is expected a new stable will be erected on the site of the destroyed building”.
