Phillips County Hospital welcomes new Family Nurse Practitioner

The Phillips County Hospital and Family Health Clinic and the community of Malta welcome Sterling Beck as a new Family Nurse Practitioner.

Beck grew up in Utah and did his undergrad work there as well. He did his Bachelor's schooling in Arizona at Grand Canyon University, and his Masters work in Indiana through Purdue University.

Sterling and his wife, Amy, have three kids of their own and are currently fostering three kids, ranging in age from 16 to one year old.

The family moved to Malta around a month ago from Glasgow, where he had worked with STAT Air as a flight nurse for six years until he got his degree.

"I've worked as a flight nurse from coast to coast really," said Beck. "From Oregon to New York City."

When asked what he and his family liked to do in their spare time, Beck said, "Fishing, camping, boating, hunting, four-wheeling. Anything and everything outdoorsy."

Asked what brought him to Malta, Beck said, "When I was with STAT Air, I had worked with many of the people here at the hospital and really enjoyed working with them. So when I was offered a job here, it was an easy choice to make."
