Snow Removal Contractors Being Sought
Snow Removal Contractor Proposals are being sought for the 2021-2022 winter season for all in town Malta Schools including the Elementary, Old Gym, Middle School/ High School, and the Head Start Building. Interested contractors may obtain a bid sheet from Superintendent Matt Genger or Jana Moran in the Central Office of the Malta Middle School/ High School.
Proposals are due by Friday, September 10, 2021 by 3:00 P.M. in the Business Office of Malta High School. 654-1871

The Department of Environmental Quality’s (DEQ) Waste Management and Remediation Division, Waste Management and Underground Tank Management Bureau, Septic Tank Pumper (STP) Program received an application for licensure of the land application of septage in Malta, Montana (Proposed Action). DEQ has reviewed the application and has determined it is complete. The name and address of the applicant is:

The proposed site encompasses approximately 185 acres of Hanson property located 3.9 miles northeast of Malta off US Highway 191 in Phillips County, Montana.
The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the Proposed Action and to seek public participation in the decision-making process. To comply with the Montana Environmental Policy Act, the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) prepared a draft environmental assessment (Draft EA). A copy of the Draft EA may be obtained from the STP Program at the address below, and is on DEQ’s website at: https://deq.mt.gov/public/publiccomment

An audit of the affairs of the City of Malta has been conducted by WIPFLi CPAs & Consultants. The audit covered the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. Section 2-7-521, MCA, requires the publication of the following summary of significant findings.
Summary of Significant Finding
Finding 2020-001 – Account Reconciliation
An accounting system should provide timely and accurate information for management. The reconciliation of account balances is an integral internal control activity to determine that stated account balances are accurate and fairly reported. Management and accounting personnel should reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and other supporting documents in a timely and effective manner.
