One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, August 25, 2021

Let’s pray for peace all over. In Montana, sympathy to the victims of the fires burning in Hays, Zortman, Lodgepole and other places.

We pray for rain to help put out the fires and save our dry lands.

In Whitewater and Phillips County, there is no hay due to the drought. Some ranchers are being forced to sell some of their cattle. It’s sad. Our sympathy to them.

Last Wednesday at the Senior dinner, we were glad to have guests. They were Erna Schlieve and her two sisters. One sister is employed at the Hi-Line in Malta, and the other sister, JoAnna, is a teacher in Whitewater school! They were all welcomed here.

It is hard to believe that school starts August 25, 2021, here in Whitewater. Years ago (when I was in school), we started in September after Labor Day.

Happy Retirement to Rose Olsen. I’ll write more about teachers and staff later in the news.

“Good Luck to all students and staff this year”.

Congratulations to Lorraine Hellie on winning the duck contest sponsored by the P.C. Museum. Fun!

Sympathy to Billings, Montana, as they had another outbreak of Covid. Aspen View (where my sister, Janet Brown lives) is in total lock down. Someone has the virus, so they are all under quarantine. It is so hard for them. We hope the virus will be over soon, everywhere.

Here’s a “tongue twister”

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. How many peppers did Peter Piper pick?

Have a good week!

Helen A.
