BIG FLAT ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING DATE SET FOR
OCTOBER 9, 2021
Preliminary plans are being made for the Big Flat Electric Cooperative’s 74th Annual Membership Meeting. The date of the meeting will be Saturday, OCTOBER 9, 2021, AT THE MALTA HIGH SCHOOL IN MALTA, COUNTY OF PHILLIPS, AND STATE OF MONTANA.
In accordance with the by-laws, the Board of Directors appointed on July 15, 2021, and have notified the following list of members to serve on the Nomination Committee:

The Nominating Committee’s delegation on nominations will meet on Thursday, September 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Big Flat Electric Cooperative’s Headquarters Building at 333 South 7th Street East, Malta, Montana to nominate members for the election of directors for a three year term from District One (1) – Hogeland Area; and for a two year term from District Three (3) – Loring/Whitewater/Saco Area, District Five (5) – Malta Area and District Seven (7) – Missouri River Area.
Members may be nominated for Directors by petition of any fifteen (15) or more members. Nominations made by petition, received at the Cooperative’s Office at least fifteen (15) days prior to the annual meeting, shall be included on the Official Ballot. Later nominations by petition shall be treated as nomination from the floor.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the County Commissioner’s Office, Phillips County Courthouse, 314 South 2nd Avenue West, Malta, Montana, a public hearing will be held at which time any taxpayer or resident of Phillips County may appear and be heard on the proposal to levy (16.25) mills for the premium contributions for group benefits according to MCA 2-9-212 and the proposal to levy (0.57) mills to fund 3% increase in employer contributions to Sheriff’s Retirement System according to MCA 15-10-420, 19-7-403, 19-7-404. Final approval is scheduled for Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Notice of Public Hearings
The Malta City Council will conduct two public hearings on August 24, 2021 at 5:03pm and 5:05pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment(s) on the annual street maintenance assessment and the annual street lighting assessment for 2021/22.
Persons and/or agent(s) may appear in person or send written comments to Mayor Demarais, PO Box 1300, Malta, MT 59538 no later than 5pm August 24, 2021.

Notice to Phillips County Taxpayers
FY 2022 Budget and Certified Mill Levy Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the County Commissioner’s Office, Phillips County Courthouse, 314 South 2nd Avenue West, Malta, Montana, a public hearing will be held at which time any taxpayer or resident of Phillips County may appear and be heard for or against any part of the proposed budget. Final Budget approval and setting of official Certified Mills is scheduled for Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2:15 p.m.
The proposed county budget for Phillips County, Montana for Fiscal Year 2021-2022 will be on file in the office of the Phillips County Clerk & Recorder and open for public inspection to all taxpayers beginning at 8:00 am on August 18, 2021.
