One Nation, Under God

Loring News for Wednesday, August 4, 2021

With the smoke in the atmosphere, the sun looks neon orange as it sets in the west! It makes for very brightly colored sunsets and the moon is very orange when it comes up also! It is just starting the waxing crescent phase. The weather has been hot mostly and dry! And now I'm seeing more damage by the grasshoppers also!

Cary Woodruff, Shannon and Richard Carr and daughter, Charli were dinner guests at Dixie Stordahl’s on Tuesday. Cary and Richard are paleontologists at the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum.

I met Nancy Murdock in Malta on Friday for lunch. She is preparing for the next school year. Her trip to California to visit her lifelong friend was very successful and they got to do some sightseeing!

Tina and Chuck Russell, and Lu Besel were dinner guests of Dixie Stordahl’s on Sunday. It was hot outside and no gophers made their heads peek out of their holes, so no shooting!

Pete Lumsden and Jay Blunt finished harvesting the winter wheat. I'm happy that they were able to get it in the bin!

The kids in 4-H cleaned the barns at the fairgrounds on Friday! They are getting their projects finished up and ready for entry on Thursday. Good luck to them!

Boris, the mayor of Loring, has gone ginger! He looks more like my golden retriever than a Samoyed. Not sure how that happened…

Have a wonderful week! Be kind!
