One Nation, Under God
As those of us that work here at the newspaper are working hard to get this weeks issue done and put together, we are without our fearless leader, Pierre Bibbs. He is on a well deserved vacation visiting his family in Illinois.
I say fearless leader and I mean it, but he may be shell-shocked, and we can’t blame him for that. The three of us that are here, doing the
best we can to get this weeks’ paper put together, have a grand total of a little over a year of experience. I’m not sure how Pierre has kept it together, but he has.
He has done an excellent job of teaching and training us on how to do our jobs. He doesn’t talk down to us or make us feel like we are ever unable to do the job. On the contrary, he is always there with a “good job” or “nice
work”. It makes working at the paper a fun place to be.
As Pierre has been enjoying this week with his family, I especially have learned how much he had to do when he didn’t have another reporter working with him. It’s quite a lot! I don’t know how he did it on a weekly basis without going crazy.
He is, without a doubt, really good at what he does, and I hope to get somewhere close to his level at some point.
That being said, the next time he starts talking about vacation, I think we may have to duct tape him to his chair!
