One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News & Opinion for Wednesday, June 9, 2021

It is June “Oh what is so rare as a day in June.” (James Russell Lowell), a poet wrote those words.

“Happy Birthday” to Janet Brown (my sister), also Julie Cole, and all June birthdays and anniversaries. Get well to David Lightfoot, who had an accident, and to all those who are sick.

Beware of deer crossing the roads, especially from Malta to Whitewater. They come out mostly at night.

Good news! Amtrak train comes through Malta seven days a week now. I love train rides, two years ago I rode Amtrak from Malta to Los Angles, California. (That’s a long ride). I visited Mitchell (my son) who lived there. He now lives in Seattle Washington, but travels some.

Whitewater Lutheran church had a baptism on Sunday for baby Stone Anderson! He is the son of Jace Anderson. Congratulations to them!

There were grandparents, family, and friends at church for the Baptism. Afterward, there was a lunch that was served.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Platte (Judy is Debbie Anderson’s mom). They live in Helena in the summers and in Texas in the winter. Judy and I graduated from WHS the same year. We reminisced about WW school.

Little Rockies Christian Camp, in Landusky Montana, has opened for the 2021 season. For information call Bruce or Lyn Hill. They are coordinating the camp.

Whitewater Baptist Church will have vacation Bible school in July. Call the Wishers for more information.

Dunbar’s horses are grazing on the hillside. I can see them from my window. The birds, mostly meadowlarks, are singing. They are our state bird.

Say, did you see the huge “Flower super moon” recently, it was awesome!
