One Nation, Under God
Yes, it is officially spring for another few days! Last week we had lots of snow. Now we have an 80-degree day! The grass is greening up! I even mowed my yard today and really enjoy how it looks after the first “haircut” of the season! Birds are abounding! Two more sightings of orioles. I have noticed the Eastern and western kingbirds have arrived! I saw a goldfinch and a few warblers, too! The sweet peas are adding lots of color to the prairie.
I attended graduation for the senior Penguins on Friday! As always it was a huge success! I think the goal of the seniors is to see how many old ladies they can bring to tears by their speeches and rose presentation! Beau Simonson gave the valedictorian speech and Kia Wasson, the salutatorian speech! Gretchen Boardman delivered a great commencement address! The tea afterwards was beautiful!
Wednesday, Bryten Clark hopped off the bus and came for a visit with me. Then her Granny Cindy stopped over, too! Thank you to the Clarks for taking such good care of the Loring community! The grass is all mowed and it looks beautiful! Also, they put a reflector at my gate so I will be able to see it and turn in the right area when it gets dark. It is a solar reflector. So thankful for neighbors and Rodney who take care of this old lady!
My flycatchers are back and have established their nest in the rafters on the deck! I hope they are successful this year. The poor things last year tried three times and the wind, other birds, or something always wrecked their little home!
Heal-up wishes are sent to Everett Blunt who broke his arm at his birthday party on Saturday! A memorable day to be sure!
Have a great week! Be kind!
