Chamber hosts Laser Tag at the Pavilion
On Saturday, April 17, 2021, the Malta Chamber of Commerce sponsored a day of laser tag at the Malta Pavilion. Bad Bear Laser Tag out of Billings was on hand to orchestrate the fun. They had a total of 8 sessions. Four in the morning and four in the afternoon.
Chamber volunteers Jessica Cebulski and Kirsten Voegel were manning the ticket desk on Saturday.
Jessica said, "We've had a fairly decent turnout today. The kids have been having a blast out there."
Kirsten added, "We've had a few adults mix in with the kids as well. I was out there for a little bit. I'm already starting to feel sore."
A couple of the kids at the 5 p.m. session echoed Kirstens' thoughts.
Jayse Newton said, "I'm having a blast! But my knee hurts. I don't care though, this is fun! We won that last game. I'm convinced it was my pink gun! I was really accurate with it."
Carson Young said, "I'm having a lot of fun! I think we are going to go again!"
Joel Newton added, "I don't like to stay back much. I like to run through and get as many as I can before they get me."
The parents that were on hand watching said they were having fun as well. They were also imagining (hoping) for a few really tired kids when they got home that night.
This is the second year that the chamber has held laser tag. The first was in 2019. It was scheduled last year, but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.
Bad Bear Laser Tag proprietor Bonnie DeBerniero said that they have had a decent showing this weekend. They had been doing a couple of different types of games with the kids. A team game, red vs blue, and a free for all, where it's the last one standing wins.
They said that their company also does birthday parties, groups like this weekend, family reunions, corporate events, and they have also done a few couples' nights.
The day was summed up pretty well by Tomas Gray. He said, "This has been a lot of fun. I wish we could do this more often! I just want to keep playing!"
